About this unit
Southwest Huerfano and northwest Las Animas counties wrapping the Spanish Peaks and Cuchara Pass. Ponderosa and Douglas-fir on the lower foothills grade up through aspen to spruce-fir on the high peaks. Predominantly San Isabel National Forest with the Spanish Peaks Wilderness on the high country.
