About
The Lower Deschutes Wild and Scenic River byway offers close-up views of rapids and canyon country. The hamlet of Maupin has twelve paved miles that connect to state highway 216. The rest of the byway is gravel and suitable for passenger vehicles. There are twenty-two developed recreation sites that offer year-round river access. The byway ends at Locked Gate Day-Use Area and Macks Canyon Campground.
