Please be mindful of ticks while you are camping, we are tucked in 200+ acres of wilderness so please be prepared to repel and protect against ticks during your stay. Due to the distance and seclusion of this site, a motor vehicle with 4 wheel drive is highly recommended for anyone booking this site. Located on the site of The Old Catskill Game Farm, the Abandoned Zoo: Our 'Wooded' Site is our most secluded site. We do recommend (although it is not necessary) having a 4 wheel drive vehicle for this location. All 4 of our sites now include: -Hotel Quality Memory Foam Mattress -Sheets and pillow cases upon request -Pillows, comforter and other bedding must be provided by the camper -Direct access to 25+ miles of private hiking/mountain biking trails including swimming holes and waterfalls to explore -The Abandoned Zoo with 3.5 miles of paved walkways + many miles of wooded trails There is a police training area about a half of a mile up the road. Occasionally you can hear shooting. It is perfectly safe and doesn't often last long. The Space: Stay at and explore what was the site of The Catskill Game Farm, America's first and largest privately owned zoo. The tent is tucked into hundreds of acres of uninhabited land giving you the perfect campsite getaway on a truly unique Catskills property. The property sits on 203 mountainside acres with 100+ buildings and old animal shelters, 3.5 miles of paved pathways and remnants of the abandoned zoo still in tact. Interaction with Guests: Self-Check In: to limit the impact of community spread, we are encouraging our campers and hosts to adopt self-check in procedures whenever possible. To make self-check in easy, Tentrr provides a map to your site and driving directions in an email sent out a few days before your reservation. Please refer to this guide to get to your campsite. As a reminder, it is good practice to give your host a head's up on your estimated arrival time a few days beforehand.
