About

The campground is located near the end of Forest Road 5506 and the John Day River. It has 8 campsites and 2 accessible toilets. Please pack your garbage home because there is no water or garbage service. Poor access road and limited turn around capability make large vehicles, trailers and low clearance vehicles not recommended. This campground has fishing, swimming, non-motorized boating, hiking, and horseback riding. Water levels are low in the late summer. The campground has good access for big game hunting. The start of the River Trail 3043 is near Oriental Creek. The North Fork John Day Wilderness can be accessed by three miles down the closed portion of Road 5506.
