It's possible to set up a campsite on most of the forest for 14 days in a 60 day period. Only designated areas are allowed for camping around developed campgrounds. It's best to check with the closest forest service office for specific information. Camp 100 feet away from any creek or stream and half a mile away from developed recreation sites, including campgrounds and picnic areas are allowed. It is possible to camp for up to 14 days in any 60 day period in designated campsites. There is no open campfires in the South Dakota portion of the national forest.
