About
It was 10,000-foot elevation. There are 22 campsites near Mix Lake. It's convenient to the Conejos River, the San Juan Wilderness, and other nearby ponds and lakes. There are a lot of hiking trails in the area. The Conejos River drainage has a campground one mile west of Platoro. The South San Juan Wilderness has good access points. There are many places to fish in the Conejos River, Kerr Lake, and Mix Lake. The Lake Fork Trail 716 and Sawmill Gulch Trail are accessible by trail. The historic town of Platoro can be visited, as well as the Mix Lake overlook. There are 22 sites with tables and fireplaces. There are three vault type toilets, refuse receptacle and pickup, as well as plenty of trailer spaces and drinking water.
