Clear Lake Resort

In the summer time, it is a great place to hike, paddle, fish and ride a mountain bike. The cold water of the lake makes it too cold to swim in. A picnic shelter was built near the resort. The lake has bald eagles and native cutthroat trout. Some non-native trout are found in the lake. The lake was formed by the lava from Sand Mountain that hit the river 3000 years ago. The original forest was submerged. Some of the submerged trees are still visible from the trail and from a boat. There are a lot of popular lakes and rivers.
