The Lower Crooked Back Country Byway has year-round camping at this six-site campground. The campground named Castle Rock is on the Chimney Rock section of the river. There is an ADA accessible vault toilet on site. The section of State Highway 27 between Prineville and the Bowman dam is a scenic bikeway. There are eight additional campgrounds, two day-use areas and a trailhead.
