About

AppleGrass Farm is a small hobby farm on 5.5 beautiful acres bordered with a deep, year-round creek. The creek area features a sandy beach and a lovely swimming hole. We have friendly animals to pet and fire pits to enjoy. We can't wait to meet you. Our little farm sits just above beautiful, year-round Wolf Creek. We are close to town, but nestled in a quiet pocket on the creek. Evenings and mornings can be quite cool because we are close to the water. \*\*Firewood and Fresh Eggs are usually available for purchase from our farm shop\*\* Things to do: We have a variety of farm animals that love attention; dairy goats, pigs (seasonally), mini-cows, chickens, ducks and livestock guardian dogs. A family of barn cats roam the property and keep the snakes at bay. You are welcome to pick wildflowers and wild mint and anise. Wild blackberries are abundant in late July and August. The wild grapes are delicious in October. We are very conveniently located just a 45 minute drive from Sacramento. 1 hour and 15 minutes from beautiful Lake Tahoe. 15 minutes from amazing hiking, mountain biking trails and lakes in Auburn, Grass Valley, or Nevada City. 20 minutes from the American River Confluence with lots of water sports. Go river rafting in Coloma, a mere 40-minute drive, or check out the gold panning at Malakoff Diggins State Park. So much to do here. Auburn and Nevada City have lovely farmers markets to visit on the weekends, as well as delicious restaurants and coffee shops. If you'd like recommendations, just ask. \*\*\*Please understand that we are a working mini farm with livestock guardian dogs. These dogs are NOT friendly with other dogs. Bring your dog at your own risk.\*\*\* The dogs do bark at night on occasion to protect our animals from predators. Earplugs recommended. There are plenty of farm noises and smells, as well as the laughter of children filling the air. The sights and sounds are sure to fill your senses.
