About This Trail
The park is located near the river and has sandy soil indicative of the Oak Openings Region. There are a lot of fascinating plants and animals in the prairie community. In the spring it is a breeding ground for birds such as rufous-sided towhees. The display of prairie flowers and grasses in the summer is spectacular, reaching 10 feet high.
