Wildflower Loop Trail

A person can skip the kiosk at the parking lot, and go to the trail back to the Nature Center. Going down the steps outside the nature center will bring you up the yellow trail. You will cross a creek and a few side streams again, and travel back to your base inside the valley. It is recommended that before you continue to climb, you pass through the Memorial to the emancipated man who died in 1915 and into the Tall-grass prairie, maintained by the park district for a part of the state's heritage. There are interpretative signs along the trails about the prairie and the flying Pests. You'll walk back through the center to the parking lot on the trail.
