About This Trail

There is a jewel of undeveloped land and land near the intersection of Western AVENUES and ADDUVIA. A 4-acre pond in the middle of over 20 acres of woods is surrounded by amish birds and animals like hawks, herons, and dogs to watch. In the years preceding, plans were made to sell items in this retail area. A Congressional Earmark paid the costs of obtaining this land from Rosehill Cemetery. The acquired lands were returned to the park district. It was transformed into a nature preserve after the district renovated its outdoor area.
