About This Trail

Imported description
It was a waterfall over the basalt cliffs. One of the most famous waterfalls in all of Oregon is the Toketee Falls, which is known for its graceful columnar basalt formation. A large amount of lava has carved a gorge out of the river which leads to a waterfall of more than 100 feet in height. The wooden Toketeepipe is passed at the trail and diverts some of the volume of the North Umpqua River to a powerhouse downstream. The waterfall can flow in an extremely consistent manor all year.

From Wikipedia

Toketee Falls is a waterfall in Douglas County, Oregon, United States, on the North Umpqua River at its confluence with the Clearwater River. It is located approximately 58 miles (93 km) east of Roseburg near Oregon Route 138, northwest of the North Entrance to Crater Lake. Toketee, is a Chinook Jargon word meaning "pretty" or "graceful". The falls was officially named by a United States Board on Geographic Names decision in 1916, over alternate names Ireland Falls and Toketie Falls.
