About This Trail
The trail is almost totally covered with foliage, but it has scenic views of the Hudson River, Cold Spring and the United States Military Academy. The majority of the trail going up on the first two peaks is straight up. It doesn't take long to come down from the last peak, even though it's a long way up the mountain. There are many large rocks and many small rocks that can become slippery or trip hazard. Excellent for hiking, not the best for trail running. It was a large Northern Black Racer snake that was on the trail. Two words : bug spray.
