Stephens Park Orange, White and White Rumbly Climb Loop

(Note: use the NYNJTC map of the park) Starting in lot by the Visitor’s Center 1. Head off on the orange trail to the right as you face the Visitor’s Center 2. Head up hill until you come to the intersection with the White trail 3. Continue on the white trail (you will pass two intersections with a Blue trail and many unblazed trails). You will pass under a power line just before you come to the Green trail (3+ miles). 4. Pass the first intersection with the Green trail and continue on the White until you come to the next intersection with the Green. 5. Head out on the Green trail passing a small lake/swamp looking for the Purple. The intersection is not blazed, but the trail is blazed. The intersection is a nice looking gravel road. 6. The Purple trail heads up hill on the woods road to a firetower. 7. After taking in the view, head back down the Purple trail to Green. Return on Green the way you came (to the right) until you get to the White. Note: The Green loop goes for a distance under the powerline and is impassable, thus do not use the southeast section of the Green loop). 8. Continue on the White to the right on the section. 9. The White runs for a good distance taking some nice switchbacks up the hillside before running on a narrow path along the side of the hill. Continue on the White until you come to the Red/White trail 10. Take the Red/White trail to the right, passing the Upper Area until you come to the Red. 11. Take the Red trail to the right and walk parallel to the river (Musconetcong) until you get back to the Visitor Center.
