About This Trail
Star brook trail is a part of a park. The trail leads into the forests that are above the earthworks. When JUNCTION was bought the forest was completely overrun with shrubs and flowers, which had nearly wiped out native plants. It was not possible to see into the forest more than a few feet in front of one's face because the bush was so dense. The Arc of Appalachia started removing the non-native vegetation in the woodlands in order to reestablish the original botanical composition. There were thousands of man and woman hours spent on this effort. It's important that you enjoy the result. The common trees in the forest are Hackberry, White Oak, and Red Oak.
