About This Trail
The Snake Hill Wildlife Management Area is located along the Cheat River and protects the views of the Coopers Rock State Forest from development. You can see Cheat Lake and Haystack Rock from the dirt access road that goes from the northern parking area. You can return along another access road to a small open area. The trail loop leads to several unnamed views and then to Cheat View, which is towards the river gorge. The overlooks are slippery when wet. It's a long drop and you should be very careful.
