About This Trail
The preserve is located west of Tucson in the foothills of the Tucson Mountains. The Preserve is within one-half mile of a national park and a research preserve. There is also a park a short distance to the south. Money from the Open Space Bond Measure was used to buy the lands that make up the Sweetwater Preserve. The acquisition of this property was strongly supported by the community. The Trailhead is located at the southern end of the road. The preserve is open at certain times of the day. Dogs are allowed on a leash.
