Roaring Brook Orange Trail and Brewster Trail Loop

This trail is actually a combination of two trails, one of which is the orange trail on the Roaring Brook Nature Center property in the other of which is a trail on Canton Land Conservation Trust. That second trail is not yet officially named, but it resides partially on property given to the land trust. Start at the end of the parking lot at the Roaring Brook Nature Center (70 Gracey Rd., Canton, CT). Cross Gracey Road, starting in an area with some picnic tables. Turn right and look for the kiosk. The nature center orange trail loop begins there. Follow the orange trail halfway around until you see a bench on the left and three blue blazes on a tree on the right. Follow the blue blazes to the saddle at the top of the ridge. Note the severe switchback so pay attention to the blue blazes. The blue blazes end, but turn right and follow a faint logging road up to a bench. Continue a few feet further to the height of land where you will see some glacier erratics. Return down the blue blazed trail. When you intersect the orange trail, you can return the way you came or turn right and continue on the orange trail loop, crossing the small bridge over Finnegan's Brook, which will return you to the picnic table area.
