About This Trail
The trail begins at Elizabethtown on the Ohio River and ends at Devil's Backbone on the Mississippi River. The Shawnee National Forest is a great place to experience. It passed through Plains, Bluffs, and upland Forest. There is a beautiful scenery and lots of wildlife. It is between easy and difficult. There are multiple elevation changes throughout the trip. The route shown on this page does not include the sections that go out to Battery Rock. The trail used to start at Battery Rock, but now it starts in Elizabethtown.
