About This Trail

Imported description
Park just 100 yards or so north of mile market 164 between the two overpasses. There are some wider shoulders right by the second overpass. If you travel clockwise the path is pretty straight forward. Follow the red canyon gently down to the lake. Then follow the trail as it follows along the lake (this section is a bit tedious in high wind). It is unsheltered and dusty so water will be important. At the power line dirt road there are some ruins and a pretty good view of Parker Dam. There is also a boat tie up, picnic table and toilet near there for boaters. Coming past the road the trail grows a bit faint, but you can hardly go wrong walking down one or the other of a few washes at the road and you'll get back to the highway. The right wash will end in a box canyon but its a shallow slope up. The wash a bit further on the road will lead right to the trail end. Follow the trail exactly (first wash and ascend left before the box end of the canyon) and you have to make some nonsensical climbs and descents, but it may be the shortest distance.
