Horicon Marsh is the largest freshwater marsh in the US. It is only one hour drive from Milwaukee and Madison. The marsh is well known for its flocks of Canada geese, but it is also home to more than 300 different types of birds. The Horicon Marsh has a unique and important story. The geologic features of the area were instrumental in providing resources for both humans and wildlife. The Horicon Mash has a rich history of culture and story, but it is also a place of tragedy and restoration. The Horicon Marsh is the result of geologic and human activities.
