About This Trail
The Prairie Trail can be found on the corner of Outer Drive and Tireman Avenue. It is 1.7 miles long and mostly on level ground. It is a great place for kids and families to go hiking. The path is well maintained. It is all meadow and prairie land that makes you forget you are in a big city. This is a great place for nature photography because you can see many butterflies and birds along the entire trail. It's necessary to add the butterfly garden trail for an added bonus. There is a lot of parking on the site. The Stone Bridge Nature Trail and the Rouge Park mountain bike and hiking hybrid trail are both within an intersection where the other trails begin.
