About This Trail
Dogs and swimming are not allowed in the area because it is within a protected Watershed. One of the most scenic peaks on the south side of Little Cottonwood canyon can be seen from this trail. You won't see many hikers on the upper portion of the trail on a summer weekend. It is easy to follow the majority of the hike. The portion of trail that leads to Lower Red Pine Lake is relatively easy to follow, but the direction of travel should keep you on the correct path. You can follow the Alpine Ridge if you go above Upper Red Pine lake. There is a trail, but it is hard to follow. You have to get the Alpine Ridge before you can go to the summit.
