About This Trail
The north fork of the Siuslaw river has views of giant old growth trees. Pawn was a name that came from an early 1900s community. Pawn is an acronym for the four families who helped establish a post office on the upper part of the North Fork Siuslaw River. The four families were the Akerleys, the Nolands, the and the Pooles. The "W" came to stand for Woosley because he ran the post office.
