Old Quarry and Little Gunpowder Loop

There are some very easy trails in the central area of the park. The Big and Little Gunpowder Streams are accessible from Jerusalem Road. The parking lots are located at the Trailheads. The trail that follows the stream is marked in white. The Old Quarry Trail is a very easy trail to hike. It has a small incline and many switchbacks as you travel into the forest. The trail is mostly flat dirt with a few rocky sections. The trail is wide enough that it won't be a problem for ticks in the summer. The Bikers are maintaining the trails well because they share them with the Hikers. The areas have easy flat trails and there is no steep grade.
