North Lookout via Bonticou Road and Cedar Drive Loop

This is a loop along (mostly) carriage roads in the Mohonk Preserve (and partially Mohonk Mountain House) property, which is a pleasant ramble through the woods which leads to a stunning viewpoint toward the Catskill Mountains at Mohonk's North Lookout, which is particularly beautiful in the fall. Note that walking is not allowed over much of this loop during the winter, as it becomes a (usually) groomed route for cross-country skiing. From the Spring Farm parking lot, take the Table Rocks Trail for a short distance, then turn left on Cedar Drive. At an intersection, turn left on Bonticou Road, which passes the impressive Bonticou Crag, then heads toward the main entrance to the Mohonk Mountain House, where, after passing through a gold course, you cross over a bridge. At a parking lot, pick up Whitney Road, then stay straight onto North Lookout Road, which leads to North Lookout itself. Retrace your steps back to the intersection with Whitney Road, but, this time, bear left to stay on North Lookout Road until your reach a T-junction, at which you turn right on Bonticou Road for a short distance. Turn left onto Glen Anna Road, then right onto Cedar Drive back to the intersection with the Table Rocks Trail.
