About This Trail
It was easy to launch, there was no tidal influence, and it was near restaurants and wildlife. New Rose Creek is an easy overlooked wet spot in Jacksonville. The launch is close to parking and shaded. The dam has a constant water level so there is no need to worry about the tides. It's a leisurely paddle around the island and by the grassy backyards. The birds are a main attraction. The main lake is a good spot to practice portaging, but the trip over the road isn't necessary.
