About This Trail
The hikers parking lot north of Mountain Crossing is at the day time. The route to Blood Mountain goes by the Byron Reese Trail and the Appalachian Trail. The Duncan Ridge Trail goes past the Blood Mountain shelter. The trail goes to Slaughter Mountain. Continue past the mountain peak on the left until the trail starts a slight downward trend, and follow the ridge up to the summit. There is a trail leading to the summit. Georgia has two mountains of 4,000 ft. They are both ranked 9th.
