Mountainside Park Blue Trail and Yellow Trail Loop

Hike in a park to a nice overlook. Walk west from the parking lot through a gate and past a pipeline cut. Take the red trail as it follows a stream on your left. The trail goes right and climbs steeply for a short distance before it descends over a hill. It goes left into the woods. A yellow trail will join soon. Go left onto the yellow trail. It crosses a stream and then comes out on an abandoned road. You can see the NYC skyline from the top of the unnamed hill, which is a fairly steep climb from the north. You can catch the blue trail from here and follow it as it descends the mountain. It will join an orange and red trail. You can take it to its end at Mountain Ave.
