About This Trail
The Mount is closed in August due to the heat. It's great for hiking and takes a half day. The trail starts off flat, and after a mile or so there is a steep incline to the main peak. On clear days, the preserve offers great views as far as the coast. There were no shade and steep grades on the hike. There are lots of shrubs and chaparral. It is easy to follow the trail.
