Middle Cloud Peak Lake via Battle Park Trailhead

General Route: Battle Park Trailhead,Trail 164, Trail 38, off-trail, then back. Or, Battle Park Trailhead, up and to the west skirting around the edge of Elk Mountain, which takes you down to Grace Lake, and then up and east to Solitude Lake, followed by an off-trail climb up cliffs to the Middle Cloud Peak Lake area.  Finding the actual trail at the trailhead can be difficult, as multiple, well-worn paths head off into the woods. The path soon becomes easier, as all the little trails merge and begin the uphill climb to the first, big park area. There is no actual lake here, though my map showed one. I think there may be a periodic marsh. The park goes on forever, undulating. Going through the park, you descend and cross a creek. Continue down to Grace Lake, and then down even farther to Trail 038/Solitude Trail. Follow Solitude Trail upriver until you cross the southern edge of Solitude Lake, then go to the western rock pile and climb up to Middle Cloud Peak Lake, or, alternatively, follow Tr 038 until you see a waterfall with use-trail (steeper option) that leads to the same place. Return your discretion.
