About This Trail
One of the Firetower hikes has two options to the summit that offer full panoramic views. Lyon Mountain is the highest point in Clinton County and the highest point north of the Saranac River. It is located in the northeastern part of Adirondack Park, west of Plattsburgh, NY. There is a new 3.4 mile trail that leads to the summit and fire tower. The trail has an elevation gain of 1900 feet. The old trail is shorter and more difficult to navigate. The hike is long but you get a panoramic view from the fire tower. The Green Mountains and Vermont to the East are all visible from the north.
