About This Trail
This epic loop hike will lead to five more 4,000 foot peaks, including Pyramid Peak on the way to Gothics. You can start off by taking the Lake Road to the beautiful Ausable Lake, then take a detour to the top of Sawteeth, where you can see Lower Ausable Lake to the north. You can climb up Pyramid to Gothics with many views of the mountains around you. You can take the Lower Great Range to the Wolfjaws and back via the East trail on the opposite side of the lake road. This trip is 17 miles of tiring terrain with a lot of ups and downs. You can do this in a summer day, but you need to start early.
