About This Trail
The Lloyd and Mabel Johnson Foundation donated 51 acres to Legacy Land Conservancy in 2007. The preserve is located on the south side of Ann Arbor and is close to the park. If you start your walk at Johnson from the parking lot, you can enjoy a mile-long trail that goes through active farm fields, enters the forest and loops around the button bush swamp. The trail goes from the woods to the park. The fall colors are very nice. There are blue circles on large oak and hickory trees on your walk. The trees were marked as Keepers for the housing development that was to take place before the land was preserved.
