About This Trail

From the west fork, take a slot canyon to the middle fork of the river. The West Fork stock bypass trail can be taken from the trail head. Go right on the Little Bear Canyon trail. At 2 miles, you can pass the Lilly Park Trail junction. The Middle Fork Trail intersects the Gila River. You can take trail 157 to the right for 6 miles. The trail will be raised up to the left after the 30th river crossing. The trail is behind the visitors center and 1.5 miles from the TJ Corral. There is a risk of flash-flood in Little Bear Canyon. Stay alert if there are storms. If flash flooding occurs, river crossing can become dangerous. Even if storms are not visible from your location, flooding may occur from heavy rains upstream.
