About This Trail
John D. Lee was exiled to serve as the operator of the only crossing servicing the Arizona Strip. The trail takes you through the historic town of Lees Ferry and along the upper reaches of the Grand Canyon. This route will have no shade. Lee, a mining company and various drifters left a lot of equipment and sandstone ruins. The Colorado River flows deep blue indigo and is Magnified by its proximity. The steel spans that replaced the primitive ferry are known as the Navajo Bridges.
