About This Trail
The City of Lake Alfred and the shore of Lake Rochelle are both home to the Mackay Garden and Lakeside Preserve. The 112 acres of land is home to many species of plants and animals. It has been preserved thanks to a grant from the Florida Communities Trust and has been developed with a fitness trail and a passive recreational park. Alexander Mackay built a mansion in 1916. It is easy to walk through native Florida flora on the trails.
