About This Trail

The Dudley Trail is closed at the moment. You have to plan for the trail to be done as an out-and-back. You should climb this stretch of the Dudley trail at least 2 hours. It is a steep and rough place, like all of Katahdin. Heelon Taylor can be found on the knife edge or back down the Dudley trail. The chimney is almost a technical climb on the Knife edge. The boulder scramble is on the peak side of the knife edge. The saddle trail is very steep and 1/2 mile long. You should be in shape for a tough hike. The most difficult part of the hike is above the tree line.
