About This Trail

Imported description
The K-Trail AKA The Kiamichi Trail The K-trail is an OHV/over-landing route that runs from Clayton, Oklahoma to Mena, Arkansas. There is no gas, water, or food available on the route. The trail changes drastically with big rain storms. Please be respectful of private property that is on either side of the trail. The west side of the trail is generally regarded as the most difficult section. 4 wheel drive, high clearance, traction modifiers, and aftermarket equipment are required. Areas of the trail can become overgrown in spring and summer. Pinstriping of paint is very likely as you drive through tight trails with overgrown brush. The trail is remote, do not rely on others for rescue, bring recovery equipment and extra gas if necessary. Cell phone service is spotty along the trail, it can be helpful to bring radios if you are traveling in a group. The trail crosses pavement at two locations, the Indian Highway South of Talihina, and Hwy63 South of Big Cedar at the Three Sticks Monument. These locations can be helpful to cache water or gas if needed.
