About This Trail
The protected cove, bywater Bay, is a great location for kayaking or canoeing. The beach trail goes for about a mile until it reaches a stream that empties into the cove. The stream can only be waded at low tide. A sand spit leads to a private island that holds summer cabins. The trail circling the salt marsh is often rough. There is a small blue heron near the marsh.
