Heritage Quarries Recreation Area I&M Canal Trail Loop

The path is off limits until 2020. There are a variety of recreational activities available at the Heritage Quarries Recreation Area. The I&M Canal Trail has crushed stone surfaces for hikers and runners. The courses of 5k and 2 mile are marked by signs along the I&M Trail. The courses start and end in downtown Lemont. There is a free parking area next to the trailhead. The Great Lakes Quarries have boat ramps which can be used for canoes, kayaks, and boats. Two picnic areas have shady places to relax.
