About This Trail

Generated from trail data
An 8.2-mile round-trip climb from the Exit Glacier valley floor to a panoramic edge of the Harding Icefield, the largest icefield entirely within the United States. From near the Exit Glacier Nature Center the trail rises through cottonwood-alder forest and heather meadows at roughly 1,000 feet of gain per mile, ending above a horizon of ice broken only by nunataks. NPS recommends 6-8 hours; snow commonly buries the upper trail into late June.
