The trail is on Bull Pen Road. The hiker can return to the trailhead by walking along Bull Pen Road. This road is dirt and not very well traveled. Alternatively, hikers could leave a car at the eastern trailhead of the trail and drive back to their car at the original trail head. Hikers can start the hike from the eastern trail head on Bull Pen Road. The trail requires crossing the river. The crossing is not a bridge and can be dangerous. Cross with care.
