About This Trail
There is a well maintained trail which follows the El Rio Canal. It borders Florida Atlantic University to the east. The rest areas are shaded by the many trees. The wildlife includes a bird, a turtle, and a reptile. There are great fishing spots to be found on the banks of the canal. You can see the antics of water tortoises in the shade of an old bridge halfway down the trail, as you cross the bridge at the beginning of the trail in the north. The trail ends when you get to Spanish River Boulevard. It's best to bring lots of water when hiking on a hot day.
