About This Trail

You must get to the campsite 90 on the Eagle Creek embayment to start the hike. It requires hiking from Fontana Dam or taking a boat shuttle across Fontana Lake. You can make reservations at the marina. The many creek crossing is a key consideration. Most of them must be waded. They can be dangerous in high water. The winter is not a good time to travel. The water is lower and you don't have to worry about wet feet. The last part of Eagle Creek Trail is a tough climb and the majority of the Jenkins Ridge Trail is a hard descent.
