Dukes Creek Trail

Please note part of the trail may closed due to a downed tree. This is a great trail for all skill levels. Round trip the trail is about 2.2 miles. The first couple of hundred yards is an ADA paved trail that winds around to an observation deck overlooking the ravine and Davis Creek falls on the other side. From there it heads down a series of stairs and follows an old road bed which makes up the better part of the trail. There are wooden boardwalks and stairs occasionally along the way. Most of the trail is wide and flat with switchbacks. As you wind your way down to the bottom of the ravine you get occasional sounds of the waterfalls. The first sizable falls are viewed from the trail. The last descent down to the main falls is the steepest part of the trip and the trail gets a bit narrow and steep on the side. At the falls there is a nice observation deck with two observation platforms with built in benches. In the summer the creeks treat you with a natural air conditioning. Also with the high humidity there are lots of varieties of mushrooms everywhere which seem to entertain the kids. If you are looking for a full day, use this as a warm up for Raven Cliff Trail that is just up the road. $4 to park unless you have a pass.
