About This Trail
Its the word, Variety, to describe it. Follow it as it goes down the path to the river. It is possible to enjoy the cool water in summer or see the ice formations in the winter. The rim of the Great Falls is believed to be 180 millions of years old. The Potowmack Canal was founded by George Washington and operated for 26 years before being abandoned. There are two things to do if you follow the trail to Great Falls Park and then the Swamp Trail: look at the falls and see wild flowers and wildlife.
