About This Trail
The North Trail crosses the Santa Ysabel Creek in the canyon bottom and then goes down to the slopes. The original 10-mile trail is overgrown with vegetation and not well defined past a certain point, so hikers are advised to turn back. The hike is about 5 miles east of the Wild Animal Park. You start off by going down a creek and then going up a hill to see the mountains and orange groves. It's suggested to do this on a cool day or start early with plenty of water and sunscreen. The trail is well maintained and easy to navigate, but there are some parts that are a bit off-road. Kids and dogs should not be on this one.
