About This Trail
The Henry Clay furnace was a pig iron furnace that was in operation from 1845 to 1865. The furnace is large and dramatic, and you can see it from the outside. The forest is beautiful. The trail is steep for the first tenth of a mile or so. The surface is rocky and not very wet. The return walk is very steep.
